Who doesn’t want gorgeous, shiny, healthy, and long hair? When our hair looks great we ultimately feel better about
ourselves and we generally have a better day. That may be sad but it’s true. Our hair can reveal a lot about our health
and our nutrition. For instance, when your diet is poor, your hair will be brittle and dry. It is important to remember
that the root of healthy is healthy nutrition. Our hair gains its nutrients from what we consume daily and there are
certain foods which can certainly improve the beauty and the health of our hair.
The first of these foods is salmon. Salmon is rich in omega 3 fatty acids which support a healthy scalp. It is also rich
in protein, vitamin B12 and iron, all of which are hair healthy nutrients. Dark green vegetables are also very beneficial
for the health of your hair. Foods such as spinach and broccoli are rich in vitamins A and C which your body needs to produce
sebum (sebum is the body’s natural conditioner). Beans are a third hair healthy food. Beans are beneficial because they are
rich in protein, zinc, iron, and biotin. A biotin deficiency can result in brittle hair.
Nuts are also beneficial because they are rich in omega 3 fatty acids and zinc. Brazil nuts are the best for your scalp because
they provide the highest number of selenium. Poultry is also great. Everyone knows that poultry is rich and protein and iron.
However, the all time best protein for hair comes from eggs. Along with protein, eggs offer our hair biotin, and vitamin B12.
Whole grains also offer our hair iron and B-vitamins along with the added bonus of zinc. Low fat dairy also plays a crucial
role as it provides our hair with hair growth inducing calcium. And last but certainly not least are carrots. This great vegetable
is not only beneficial for your vision, but it also promotes a healthy scalp. So if you want beautiful, long tresses, try adding
some of these foods into your daily diet.
